Protocol Page Check by Eric Yim · Version 1.0.0 · September 12, 2026
Your page stays with you.
The extension reads the current page only when you open it or choose Scan Again. It processes the page URL, title, metadata, headings, image source URLs, and alt attributes inside your browser to create the report you requested.
It sends no page data to Eric Yim, Protocol, or anyone else. There are no analytics, ads, accounts, cookies, remote scripts, or background monitoring. It does not read form values, cookies, passwords, or browser history. Page text can itself contain personal information; that text is processed only in the local report.
Reports and retention
Results live in the popup’s memory and are discarded when it closes. Download Report saves a JSON file to your device using Chrome’s normal download behavior. You control that file and can delete it at any time. URL query strings, fragments, and embedded credentials are removed from page, canonical, and image URLs. Other visible text is not redacted, so review a report before sharing it.
Two permissions
activeTab gives temporary access to the page you choose by clicking the extension. scripting runs the bundled, read-only inspection function on that page. The extension requests no persistent host access or storage permission.
What a check means
This is a quick inspection of the rendered main document. It does not inspect iframes, shadow roots, server responses, HTTP headers, robots.txt, link status, social image availability, or performance. Heading and image lists show up to 300 items each; counts include every matching element. A missing tag or unusual heading is a prompt to review, not proof that the page is wrong.
A passed check means only that its stated DOM condition was found. It is not an SEO score, a search indexing guarantee, or an accessibility certification. Empty alt text may be appropriate for decoration. Existing alt text still needs a human quality review.
External links
The homepage link opens eric-yim.com only when you choose it. That website operates separately under its own practices; no report data is appended to the link.
